The Village

New Learning Block and Sports Complex, Yew Wah International School, Guangzhou, China | year: 2018 - current | status: under construction | type: Educational | team: Annette Chu, Tommy Yeung & Natalie Dungey | in collaboration with Studio Zhai

With the mountain as the backdrop, the New Learning Block takes on a linear form to create a transparent building mass, allowing students to constantly view the school complex in the south and the nature in the north.

Internally, the open learning spaces flow and create a diversity of spatial quality while maintaining maximium flexibility to adapt the continously evolving learning experiences.

The Sports Complex, with a concept of Container of Movements, has a continous ramp linking all the activity spaces and supporting facilities from ground to the roof level.
